* Head tracking is not powered by the EyeChip so it may increase your CPU load. ** The average power consumption during usage is 2.0W, but the eye trackers power consumption can spike up to 5-6W depending on the use case. For example, when the illuminators first turn on, the consumption can briefly spike (matter of milliseconds) at around 5-6W. The Tobii Eye Tracker 4C officially works with USB 2.0 BC1.2 which can handle spikes up to 7.5W. *** The tracker is compatible with Windows 7 and 8.1, but we no longer perform tests on these versions so we can’t guarantee functionality in our newer software releases.


Does it work for everyone?
The Eye Tracker 4C works for 97% of the population, making it the most widely compatible eye tracker in the market. It works in a variety of contexts, regardless of eye color, ambient light conditions or use of glasses or lenses.
Will it work on curved screens?
Yes, it works on curved screens, but we currently do not provide mounting plates that are tuned for them.
What distance between eye tracker and user?
The Tobii Eye Tracker 4C works from a distance of 50 –95 cm / 20-37”.
What is the maximum screen size it works with?
For Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, the maximum screen sizes are
  • 27 inches with a 16:9 Aspect Ratio
  • 30 inches with a 21:9 Aspect Ratio
We do not recommend that you use a larger screen, especially for the Windows Interaction features, but it works adequately for certain gaming features.
What is the Tobii EyeChip?
The world’s first eye tracking ASIC and located on the eye tracker, the EyeChip contains all Tobii algorithms necessary for eye tracking computation. The addition of EyeChip significantly reduces power consumption, CPU load and data transfer between the eye tracker and its host computer
